We are the only Pediatric Skilled Nursing Home in Puerto Rico that provides specialized long-term and convalescent care services for patients from birth to 21 years of age.  We serve patients with severe, chronic physical and mental health conditions who have been referred to us and are under the custody of the Department of the Family.

Additionally, we have an elementary school that provides reasonable accommodations and focuses on developing academic, social, behavioral, and communication skills. We serve children aged 2 to 7 with speech and language difficulties, pragmatic communication disorders, sensory processing issues, learning disabilities, or a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Furthermore, we offer outpatient therapy services available privately and through contracts with the Department of Health and the Department of Education island-wide:

  • Pediatric Skilled Nursing Home

    We are the only Pediatric Skilled Nursing Home in Puerto Rico providing specialized long-term and convalescent care for children under the custody of the Department of the Family. Our services are tailored to address each resident’s physical, medical, developmental, and emotional needs.

    – Medical and Therapeutic Care: We provide comprehensive medical and therapeutic services for children with complex medical conditions and developmental disabilities.  Our patients have diagnoses that may include:

    • Congenital conditions (such as cerebral palsy and microcephaly)
    • Psychomotor developmental delays
    • Neurological disorders
    • Orthopedic conditions
    • Post-traumatic conditions
    • Neuromuscular disorders
    • Pulmonary diseases

    Our commitment is to provide comprehensive, individualized care for every resident.  We work collaboratively to coordinate medical, therapeutic, educational, and supportive services, maximizing each child’s potential while ensuring that every patient receives care based on their unique needs.

  • The Centro de Aprendizaje del Niño (CAN)

    CAN is a licensed elementary school in Puerto Rico that provides reasonable accommodations to meet the individual needs of its students.  Our program serves children aged 2 to 7, specializing in the development of academic, social, behavioral, and communication skills to foster well-rounded early childhood learning.

    With the support of teachers and families, our goal is to help each child strengthen the foundational academic skills needed for a successful transition into future educational environments.

    CAN offers a comprehensive educational program for students with average to above-average intellectual abilities who require instructional adaptations due to sensory processing difficulties or developmental delays.  These individualized supports facilitate their successful integration into a regular classroom setting.

  • Outpatient Therapy Services

Our outpatient therapy services are available privately as well as through contracts with the Puerto Rico Department of Health and the Department of Education.  Services are provided island-wide in our facilities, schools, homes, and via telehealth when appropriate.

  • Early Intervention Program

Through the Avanzando Juntos Program of the Puerto Rico Department of Health, we provide early intervention services for infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months of age who exhibit developmental delays.

  • Special Education Services

Through our contract with the Puerto Rico Department of Education, we provide specialized therapy services for children and youth aged 3 to 21 with disabilities.

Please note: We do not provide services through the Provisional Remedy Program (Remedio Provisional).

  • Private Evaluations

In addition to outpatient therapies, we offer private evaluations in the following areas:
