Due to the scarcity of centers in Puerto Rico that offer therapeutic services similar to ours at the Centro de Aprendizaje del Niño, we are at maximum capacity to accommodate 54 children. That's why we've started the construction of an annex spanning 14,297 square feet, with an approximate cost of $5.2 million, of which we already have $3,773,000 secured for the project. This new space will feature a gymnasium, indoor garden and patio, and 14 classrooms capable of accommodating up to 120 children aged 2 to 9. This additional space will be crucial in mitigating the devastating impacts that all the interruptions in education in Puerto Rico (such as the passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria, the earthquake affecting the southwest area, and the arrival of COVID-19) have had on the emotional and educational development of our children. It will enable us to offer an educational alternative that integrates therapeutic services in a viable, effective manner, tailored to the individual needs of each child, in close collaboration with their parents and/or caregivers.
